Turkey: US imperialism

"It can easily be understood from Bush and Blair's statements
who benefited from the bombs. The two leaders of imperialism look
at the bloodshed in Istanbul and reiterate their call for
'struggle against international terrorism'. The bombs benefit
imperialism and those who are trying to further condemn Turkey to
the arms of the US", the Communist Party of Turkey said in a
statement following the suicide bombings outside British embassy
in Istanbul.

US planes have once again commenced bombing Iraqi cities, and the
occupying coalition has met an impasse. "Imperialist aggression
has found a new excuse based on terror".

The Communist Party statement says, "Our country is being pushed
into imperialism's evil front". It is not a coincidence that the
attacks have occurred at the same time as Turkey was to send
troops and a governor to Afghanistan.

The fundamentalist Islamist organisations were produced to be the
puppets of the US, and today they continue to serve their
masters. Just as it is clear that the Istanbul attacks have
helped the US, it is definite that the fundamentalists are not
independent actors, the Party said.

"US imperialism and its puppet fundamentalists have drowned
Turkey in blood. And while the blood of our people is being shed,
our country is being administered by a pro-US/Fundamentalist
coalition.

"The Communist Party of Turkey extends its condolences to the
loved ones of those who have lost their lives in this attack, and
calls on our patriotic public to attend the funerals in order to
show its power and solidarity to imperialism and its puppets."
