Expressions of solidarity with Cuba

Delegates at the recent National Consultation of the Australia Cuba Friendship Society added their voices to calls for an end to the US-led blockade of Cuba and for the immediate release of the Cuban Five — the Cuban nationals now in their 10th year of imprisonment in the US on bogus convictions after having lifted the lid on anti-Cuba terror groups in Miami.

Resolutions passed unanimously at the gathering held this year in Melbourne represent the wishes of organisations in solidarity and friendship with Cuba from most major centres in Australia and New Zealand. They also express the feelings of the growing numbers of people around the world becoming aware of the injustices. The text of the resolutions was forwarded to US and Australian government representatives and to media outlets. A report of the resolutions was carried in Cuba by news agency Prensa Latina.
