Oppose Individual Contracts:
Support the BHP workers

The Central Committee Executive of the Communist Party of Australia 
extends its support to the workers and their Unions in struggle against the 
BHP's attempt to impose individual contracts in its iron ore 
operations.

The success so far of the Unions' campaign both legally and industrially, 
to win the right to negotiate collectively is a victory for all workers.

There is still a real danger of workers being forced onto individual 
contracts by BHP which is still pursuing its aggressive path through legal 
appeal. This will continue while industrial legislation allows for 
individual contracts.

The CC Executive calls for a united front of workers and their unions to 
ensure that legislation allowing individual contracts is repealed both 
Federally and in each State.
