CORPORATE GREED
to be up to speed
in the world of corporate greed
forget all human need
you must dress the part
walk the part, talk the part
eat the part, sleep the part …
groom those suckers for the crunch
invite them to your toxic lunch
DO NOT LOOK AT FRANGIPANNI TREES
peer deep into the bowels
of your computer screen
lock onto the grid
make the highest bid
then scramble and tangle
fight and bite
claw and saw
rip and shit
your way to the top
YOU HAVE ENTERED THE JUNGLE
DO NOT BUNGLE
and if you do,
take 30 million dollars
away with you
WORSHIP YOUR GREAT GODS
GNP, GDP, STUPIDITY
READY FORAPEE
WANKERS AND BANKERS
BEARS AND SHARES
NOBODY KNOWS AND
NOBODY CARES
Capitalist cowboys! Corporate Neroes!
yes, you – you who fiddled
while the world went bust
did you not see the flowers
had already fallen
from the frangipanni tree
and the grapes of your summer’s greed
had shriveled on the profit vine
and don’t bother to tell us
it isn’t your fault
that the homeless mother sits
now with her crying baby
in the derelict car at the end of your street
starving to death under the barren trees
NOTE DOWN THIS
IT IS YOUR FAULT
it will be a long, cold winter
this winter of corporate greed
