For full employment and the right to strike



The Communist Party of Australia calls for:

  • The right to strike to be incorporated in law
  • Trade union-negotiated collective agreements in every workplace
  • Gender pay equality
  • Immediate increase of $50 a week in the aged pension and $100 a week in Newstart and other welfare payments
  • Indigenous workers’ rights and land rights
  • Full employment and the right to secure work with full entitlements
  • Job creation through increased spending on public housing, public transport and renewable energy funded by slashing military spending
  • Dental care to be included in Medicare
  • A national, public superannuation fund with guaranteed entitlements and investments in public social and economic infrastructure
  • End to privatisation and deregulation, reversal of privatisations
  • Abolition of university and TAFE fees, creation of more apprenticeships and skills training
  • Action plan to address climate change
  • Removal of all foreign spy and military bases/forces from Australia
