Poem

The Flag

Although we no longer can carry the flag,
The poor old legs are beginning to sag.

But our hearts and our minds are still with those,
Who take to the streets and dare to oppose.

Wrongs that are done in society’s name,
And with banners and placards apportion the blame.

And with chants and songs like “We will overcome”,
Imagine the world that the workers have won.

A world that Marx and Engels foretold,
A world where mankind will live as one.
