The life of The Party throughout the years

The Communist Party of Australia has been involved in a lot of activities and actions in the course of its 100 years. Throughout October, we will look at some of those moments. This week we will look at the Party’s youth. In its heyday, the Socialist Party of Australia (now CPA), had its Young Socialist League (YSL). Below are some photos from that period of actions and YSL Congresses.

The dismantling of the USSR had devastating effects on all aspects of Party life, and youth were no exception as the periods of the ’80s, ’90s, ’00s were dominated by neoliberalism. However, Millenials and Generation Z who, for the most part, have grown up removed from the Cold War period are returning to socialism (and, in particular, Marxism-Leninism) as they seek alternatives to the capitalist system that has them become the first generations to be worse off than the generation preceding. Below are some photos of the younger generations who are fighting for a better future.
